Why do you buy from your Local Yarn Shop versus online Yarn Shops?
I like to feel the yarns before I buy the yarns.
I like to bring my projects to the shop and ask for personal  help with it.
I like to spend time in the shop to "chill out" and socialize with friends.
I like taking small classes with others and making new friends.
I confess I am a secret showroomer: I feel the yarns in the shop, but then buy them on the Internet instead (LOL!).

We love to teach knitting, crochet and weaving! Classes are for very small groups, typically only 3 students at a time, providing personal attention. Enjoy a great cup of creativity, relaxation and zen with friends and family!

How to Read Charted Knit Patterns

Ok.   Sailors have charts.  Patients have charts.  Business people have charts about charts.

This class helps you learn, and then master the ability to “read” knitting charts.

Once you know how to comfortably read the knitting chart, then, just like a sailor, you will literally ‘follow the chart’ from the beginning of a beautiful shawl to your destination: a completed work of hand-made fabric art.

How to Read Charted Crochet Patterns

Once you know how to comfortably read a crochet chart, backwards and forwards, then, just like a sailor, you will literally ‘follow the chart’ from the beginning of a beautiful charted shawl to your own hand-made destination.

Learning to knit "Continental Style"

Many English-language books on knitting are in the English or American style because the Continental Knitting style fell out of favor during WWII.

Elizabeth Zimmermann helped to re-introduce continental style knitting to the United States.

At the Raging Wool Shop, Alice will help you learn what Elizabeth claimed and advocated to be the “most efficient and quickest way to knit”.
