Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 — Stash Buster Vest
Class Level: Advanced Beginner
Homework: None, but this class is good to teach in 2 separate sections. First to get everyone started by choosing appropriate yarns, calculating sizes, planning warps and getting started. The second class is good for at least 2-4 weeks later when the fabric is woven and everyone is ready to assemble the garments (we’ll decide in class as a group when the next convenient time is).
Supplies: Rigid Heddle loom with at least 10” weaving width, 7.5 or 8 dent reed, warping peg, threading/sley hook, clamps, shuttle, 3 yards seam binding to match woven fabric, straight pins, sewing needle, matching sewing thread, twill tape, 600 yards of about worsted weight rayon boucle for weft, 650 yards of mixed yarns for the warp (these can be about worsted weight rayon, silk, ladder, etc). Access to sewing machine helpful. We request that you purchase materials from Raging Wool Shop; looms are available for in-shop use and purchase.
