Almost 25 years ago, Rhichard became interested in hand-dyed yarns. Perhaps that interest was genetic, because his maternal grandfather was a fiber artist in The Netherlands.
His own explorations with hand-dyed yarns and fiber arts began with learning how to hand-spin, setting up a business importing raw fleeces from unique breeds not otherwise available in North America for the hand-spinners’ market, learning how to hand-weave, producing and selling hand-woven clothing and rugs, getting a flock of merino sheep.
Rhichard has spent the last 12 years learning the intricacies of hand-dyeing, developing new techniques, learning about the yarn industry and associated industries, the clients, the art and artistry that comes with every endeavour related to yarn. He's travelled extensively, attending trade shows and making wonderful friends.
The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze is the next part of his journey and he's thrilled to have his partner, Robert, engaged.
Rhichard's hand-dyed yarns are based on three guiding principles: affability, availability, and accountability, always endeavouring to exceed your expectations of stunning colors and creativity.
